My name is Lateefa "Genie" Dawkins, MBA and like you—I’m a mom who wears many hats. As a mother of three children with behavioral and learning differences, best-selling author, parent advocate, integrative health coach, CEO of The Parenting Cipher organization and host of the The Parenting Cipher Podcast.
I’m incredibly passionate about children of color receiving the best educational experiences so that they can close the educational gaps and receive every opportunity to thrive. I’m fondly called "Genie" because I make things happen for myself and others. I like to tell my clients "Once you tell me your greatest wish for your child, I will do my best to make it happen."
The first step in the process is to schedule an initial consultation with our team at EnvisionED. During this session, we will have an in-depth discussion with the customer to understand their specific needs and goals for their special needs child. We will assess the child's educational background, challenges, and aspirations. This consultation will help us tailor our strategy sessions and membership to their unique requirements.
STEP 2
Customized Strategy Session and Action Plan
Based on the information gathered during the initial consultation, our team will design a customized strategy session and action plan for the customer. This plan will outline the specific areas of focus, such as school selection, advocacy, individualized education plans (IEPs), and assistive technologies. The strategy session will provide expert guidance, practical tools, and resources to empower the customer to navigate the educational landscape effectively.
STEP 3
Implementation and Support
Once the strategy session and action plan are finalized, we will provide ongoing support to the customer. Our team will assist them in implementing the strategies and recommendations discussed during the session. We will offer guidance on communicating with schools, collaborating with educators, and accessing necessary resources. Through regular check-ins, we will ensure that the customer is progressing towards their goals and provide additional support as needed.
STEP 4
Membership and Continued Education
After completing the strategy session, customers have the option to join our membership program, which provides access to a range of additional benefits. Membership includes participation in interactive workshops, webinars, and online forums where they can continue learning and connecting with other parents in similar situations. The membership also grants access to updated resources, the latest research in special education, and ongoing support from our team of experts.
